Before construction, we need the dimensions of the items that will sit in or on the wall, plus the position of power, cables, ventilation and any shelving. This lets the openings and proportions be agreed around the actual products.
Electrical work and appliance requirements should be confirmed with the appropriate qualified trades before the wall is closed and plastered.

We construct the timber studwork and form the agreed shape, checking the key lines and openings as the structure develops.

Board and prepare
The framework is covered with plasterboard, with the required access and service positions accounted for before it is closed.

Plaster and hand over
We apply the smooth plaster finish, tidy the work area and explain the drying time before the wall is decorated.

What information do you need for a media wall quote?
Photographs and approximate wall dimensions are a useful start. We will also need to understand the screen, fire, soundbar, equipment and storage you want included so the design can be priced accurately.
Can you build the wall around my television and fire?
Yes, the studwork and openings can be planned around the dimensions and installation requirements of your chosen products. Those details need to be confirmed before construction begins.
Do you carry out the plastering as well?
Yes. FMJ can build the timber framework, install the plasterboard and apply the smooth plaster finish, keeping those stages with one team.
Do you install electrics or the fire?
The correct installation depends on the products and services involved. Electrical work and appliance connections should be completed or confirmed by the appropriate qualified trades, and we can plan the wall around their requirements.
Can you build ordinary stud partition walls?
Yes. We also build internal stud partitions and lowered ceiling structures using timber and plasterboard, then prepare and plaster them for the next decorative stage.
