Uneven masonry
Bonding can build out hollows and irregular areas, helping to bring suitable walls back towards a level plane.

Professional bonding-coat plastering for uneven, smooth or difficult backgrounds, creating a sound and level base ready for the finishing skim.
Bonding plaster is an undercoat. It builds up and straightens suitable backgrounds so the finishing plaster has a stable, even surface to work from.
Its strong adhesion makes it useful on surfaces where a traditional high-suction base coat may not be appropriate, including some concrete, dense blocks and areas that need deeper levelling. We assess the background first and choose the preparation that suits it.

Bonding is selected for the job the wall needs it to do. It helps create the dependable base that the visible finishing coat relies on.
Bonding can build out hollows and irregular areas, helping to bring suitable walls back towards a level plane.
Its adhesion makes bonding useful on suitable low-suction surfaces such as dense blocks and some concrete backgrounds.
It can help rebuild appropriate damaged sections and deeper patches before the finishing coat is applied.
Its job is to create a sound, shaped and level undercoat. Once it has reached the right condition, finishing plaster is applied over it to produce the smooth surface that will eventually be decorated.
Preparation, background condition and coat depth all affect the result, so we assess the wall rather than applying the same approach to every surface.
We check the material, condition, suction and amount of levelling required before recommending a plastering system.
We protect floors and furniture, remove loose material and carry out the preparation needed for reliable adhesion.
The undercoat is applied to the suitable prepared background and built to the depth needed for the area.
We shape and level the coat so it creates the consistent base required for the next stage of plastering.
The finishing plaster creates the smooth visible surface. We then clear the work area and explain drying and decorating times.
Finished plasterwork from local FMJ projects, where careful preparation supports the clean result you see.

“They repaired a door opening where patio doors had been removed and patched a few areas of cracked plaster. Freddy was very responsive and easy to work with.”
“The whole team was friendly, polite and professional. Parts of the coving were far from easy, and Freddy would not rest until it was done right.”
“They always leave the house immaculately clean and are very respectful workers. Thanks for the great work.”
Not every wall needs bonding plaster. Send us a photograph or arrange a visit and we will explain what your surface requires.
Bonding is an undercoat plaster used to build, straighten and prepare suitable backgrounds before a finishing skim. It is particularly useful where the wall is uneven or has relatively low suction.
No. Bonding creates the base layer. A finishing plaster is normally applied over it to produce the smooth surface that will be painted or decorated.
No single plaster suits every background. We assess the wall, its condition and its suction before choosing the appropriate preparation and materials.
Drying depends on coat depth, background, ventilation and site conditions. We will explain when the finishing coat can be applied and when the completed plaster can be decorated.
Of course. We provide a clear quote before anything is agreed and make sure you are comfortable with the proposed work before it begins.
